The academic work of the college is carried out by 3 schools and a centre for learning and student support (CLaSS).  Each school is managed by a head of school who is in overall charge of staffing and curriculum.  In addition to the 3 schools and CLaSS, the college has a commercial business development function which provides bespoke programmes for industry, commerce and the public sector.  The range of provision offered by each function is outlined below.


ScienceBusiness and Technology

This school offers courses in Business Studies, Accounting, Personnel, Marketing, Management, Administration, Hospitality, Professional Cookery, Tourism, Business Development, Computing, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Fabrication, Welding and Non-destructive Testing, Manufacturing, Mechanical and Automotive Engineering, Sport, Aquaculture and Mathematics.

The Business Development team at Inverness College UHI offer professional development, short courses and work-based vocational qualifications in areas such as management, personnel, training and development, accounting, construction, health and safety, food hygiene and the security industry.


ConstructionConstruction and Forestry

This school offers courses in Carpentry and Joinery, Painting and Decorating, Plumbing, Brickwork, Civil Engineering, Architectural Technology, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Electrical Practice, Forestry and Arboriculture.



LibraryCultural and Social Studies

This school offers courses in Childcare and Early Years Education; Social and Health Care including Access to Nursing and Infection Control; Hairdressing, Beauty Therapy and Complementary Therapies; Drama, Languages, Art and Design, Social Sciences, Literature and History.



Vocational Pathways Programme

The Vocational Pathways Programme is not a school in itself but it takes selected curriculum from each school and provides a suite of opportunities for local secondary school pupils to attend both FE and HE courses at the college.
