Electrical Installation with Renewable Energy Pre Apprenticeship (SCQF level 5)

This introductory course is designed to give students a knowledge of electrical installation techniques and renewable energy practices.  It covers: electrical installation, electrical principles, electric installation systems and protection.  Inspection and testing covers: domestic wind turbine systems, energy and the individual, domestic solar hot water systems and an introduction to employability and careers.  With the inclusion of core skills within the programme, this course covers the basic skills needed to progress onto an apprenticeship or study further at the college.

Entry requirements (mature students)

  • Interview
  • Entry at the discretion of the college

Entry requirements (school leavers)

  • 3 Standard Grades to include english and Maths at 3 or above or equivalent qualification
  • Engry at the discretion of the college

Continuous assessment.
