Outdoor Pursuits (SCQF Level 5)

Rafting

This is a full time course focusing on practical activities on land and water, including mountain biking, hill-walking, orienteering, kayaking and a choice of sports.  The course also involves a residential experience.  Qualifications are provided through SQA at Intermediate level 2 with emphasis on students developing and logging the underpinning knowledge and experience required to undertake national governing-body qualifications which are well recognised within the industry.  With the inclusion of core skills in the programme, students can achieve the necessary skills to progress onto the Sports Higher programme.

  • Entry would be at the discretion of the Course Team

  • 3 Standard Grades at level 3 or above

Continuous assessment.

What next?

Successful completion of the course can lead to progression onto the Sport Highers Programme which includes outdoor pursuit or tradiditonal sports options, as well as a range of SQA Highers.
