The Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005 states that all Premises Managers must hold a valid Personal Licence or alcohol cannot be served. In order for an individual to be granted a personal licence they must have evidence of a valid licensing qualification such as Certificate for Personal Licence Holders Scotland.  These certificates are valid for five years and must be renewed prior to the expiry date.
