I chose UHI after speaking with Skills Development Scotland at my school. I knew I wanted to study something around computing but that it had to be local to me. They suggested UHI as they offer a range computing courses right on my doorstep.

Continuing on with my studies will allow me to develop my skills and experience with a variety of technologies. Having this versatility and knowledge will undoubtedly be useful for my future career.

Casey studied the HNC Computing at UHI Shetland.

The major highlight for me was working on team projects where we delivered a mobile application. Another project involved working with students across all the other years providing networking opportunities and created a really strong team environment.

I enjoyed the self-study and research mode of teaching as it encouraged me to go and find out information and techniques for myself. My lecturers were always able to point me in the right direction when help was required and helped me to expand my knowledge.

Currently I work as a vocational training advisor which involves designing and building a web-based system for a local food distribution organisation for poverty recording. I'm using skills from almost every module.

Ewan studied the HNC Computer Science before progressing to the BSc (Hons) Computing at UHI Perth.

I did not consider any other universities, as I lived nearby. I found the style of teaching helpful, and I believe what I have learned in my studies will help me as I pursue a career in games development.

Jordan studied the HNC Computing at UHI North, West and Hebrides.
