Inverness College UHI CREATES perfect environment for budding entrepreneurs
Budding entrepreneurs at Inverness College UHI are on the high road to success after the College’s CREATE Centre secured a three-year sponsorship package with partners Robertson Highland.
The three-year deal with Robertson, the infrastructure, support services and construction group, will provide a financial boost to the resources required to support an increase in entrepreneurship across the Highland region.
During a challenging economic climate, this is excellent news for the College as it seeks to give entrepreneurs of the future the opportunity to be innovative, grow their ideas and watch their projects progress into brand new businesses.
CREATE, The Highland Centre for Enterprise and Innovation at Inverness College UHI, is designed to help learners develop their enterprising skills as they prepare to enter employment, as well as giving those looking to start their own business the additional knowledge required to make their project a success.
Funded by European Social Fund, The Highland Council and Inverness College UHI itself, the CREATE Centre has gone from strength to strength in recent months, with the introduction of its own Entrepreneurs Club which sees experts deliver talks to students on their own business experiences.
Carol Langston, Enterprise and Innovation Manager at Inverness College UHI, commented: “We are really delighted to have agreed a three-year sponsorship package with Robertson Highland which will provide some much-needed additional resource to help our budding entrepreneurs really get their idea off the ground.
“The spirit of entrepreneurship is alive and well in the Highlands but it’s great to be able to give some additional help at that crucial time.”
Raymond More, Managing Director at Robertson Highland, added: “At Robertson we're committed to engaging with the communities where we operate. The Robertson business was started 45 years ago by a young entrepreneur and we are delighted to be able to support CREATE in their drive to increase the entrepreneurial spirit amongst the budding entrepreneurs in the Highlands.”
