Inverness College UHI on-hand to help deliver ‘green’ message
Photographers and journalists are invited to attend the Greener Moray Festival, one of the country’s leading ‘green’ events featuring Inverness College UHI, in Elgin Town Hall on March 16th from 11am to 7pm – with the chance to capture just how fun being green can be.
Inverness College UHI’s Peter Dennis will be on-hand to provide advice about the College’s Sustainable Energy and Micro-renewables (SEAM) Centre, and will be presenting between 1.15pm and 1.45pm on the delivery of the centre’s message throughout the Highlands and Islands.
At a time where every penny counts, The Greener Moray Festival is a free-of-charge event for business owners, community groups and green-minded members of the public interested in discovering new ways to cut their carbon footprint and saving money in the process.
The Greener Moray Festival provides various exhibitions, interactive workshops and presentations, all of which focus on advising the public how to be greener and smarter with their money, whilst providing young people an insight into fun ways to be environmentally friendly.
With exhibitors including Inverness College UHI’s SEAM centre, which recently joined forces with Greener Moray to launch a set of new workshops in the benefits of renewable energy solutions, the event is designed to convey to the people of the Highlands and Islands just how easy it is to ‘go green’ – and how it could help save a few extra pounds.
The Greener Moray Festival provides the ideal opportunity to receive expert advice on a wide range of environmental issues, from installing renewable technologies to improving energy efficiency. Also explained on the day will be ways to minimise waste and sustainable design.
As well as these informative exhibitors, a number of presentations are scheduled to take place throughout the day – meaning you are never short of something new to hear about and put into practice in your daily lives.
The event also targets the ‘green’ population of the future, with special interactive workshops available for local schools providing ideal photo opportunities for the media. ‘Smooth Operator’ is set to be the hit of the event, with youngsters making their own fruit smoothies using the wonder of pedal power.
