Studying and Staying on Benefits

by eo02jm last modified 26-08-2010 12:45

Many full-time students may find that they are not entitled to benefits (especially means tested benefits).  However some students are able to claim certain benefits depending upon their individual circumstances.  Some examples are;

  • Lone parents
  • Disabled students
  • Carers

It is always wise to double check whether or not you are entitled to any benefits and how studying will affect any benefit that you currently receive.

The Benefits Agency will be able to advise you on this, but if you would like to have a chat with the College Guidance Team before approaching anyone else then please contact the Guidance Team by email on guidance.officer@inverness.uhi.ac.uk or by telephone on 01463 273000, (Textphone for those who are deaf, hard of hearing or have speech impairments 01463 273180) or you can drop in to the Longman Campus, Inverness in person Monday to Friday during office hours and make an appointment.
