Why Inverness College UHI?
As a large organisation with one of the widest ranging curricula in Scotland, we cater for over 8,500 students, from a variety of countries, who study either full-time or part-time. We welcome students of all abilities and from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds. All of our courses are certified, mostly through the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA); and each programme is made up of a grouping of units, which means that we can design you a programme which suits your individual needs. It is important to us that each student is treated as an individual.
Courses are designed to provide a good preparation for, or enhancement of, your employment by including: work placements; visiting speakers; the opportunity to work with other students who bring a rich mixture of employment experience; staff with significant industrial experience committed to remaining up to date; opportunities to engage in real life industrial and business based projects.
Because we offer courses from Intermediate 1/2 and National Certificate through to degree level and beyond, our students have multiple entry and exit points, suited to their previous experience and qualifications and suited to their individual needs and aspirations. These opportunities will be further enhanced by our membership of the network of colleges preparing for a University of the Highlands and Islands, now known as UHI Millennium Institute, one of the most exciting educational developments this century.
