Construction Modern Apprenticeships
Inverness College UHI is now a direct* provider of construction modern apprenticeships, having become a managing agent in its own right.
Previously, employers could only sign up construction modern apprentices with the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB), which sub-contracted to Inverness College UHI to deliver training and assessment.
Employers now have the choice to put their apprentices to Inverness College UHI direct, guaranteeing a place for their apprentice locally. If the employer is CITB registered and eligible, they can also continue to access levy grant funding.
A modern apprenticeship is a work-based qualification, allowing people to work, earn and learn at the same time.
Inverness College UHI can help construction employers recruit and train modern apprentices in painting and decorating, carpentry, joinery, brickwork, stonemasonry, civil engineering, construction management and the built environment, with assessment taking place on-site.
- A comprehensive apprentice recruitment service;
- Allocated on-site assessor with significant industry experience;
- Dedicated employer account manager, providing a single point of contact, support and regular reports;
- Bespoke apprenticeships with the option to add-on qualifications to suit your business needs;
- Continued access to CITB grants, where the business is eligible;
- Support with travel and accommodation, where your business is eligible;
- Opportunities to shape construction training education.
Find out more at our Apprenticeship Business Breakfast on Wednesday 12th June, 7am. Open to all, no need to book.

*Many colleges across Scotland are now managing agents in their own right, meaning if an employer is CITB registered, they can now choose to work with a college directly as a managing agent, whilst still being able to access levy grant funding.
