What is special about this course?

Community Link classes are normally small and the emphasis is on individuals working at their own pace.


  • To assist in the transition from home to college and the wider community.
  • To provide opportunities for our students to develop and progress in subjects in a supportive environment.
  • To provide opportunities to study and gain new skills and qualifications.

Entry requirements

You will be required to complete an application form and attend an informal interview.

The course is made up of SQA units and a range of awards. Subjects may include

  • ICT
  • Expressive art & design
  • Wellbeing
  • John Muir Award (Nature and conservation)
  • Adult achievement award
  • Cooking skills

How will I study my course?

  • Part Time

Assessment takes place throughout each subject.

How long will my course last?

Students will typically study on this course for a number of years, progressing from perhaps half a day to up to 2 or 3  days a week.

Informal assessment takes place throughout the year.
