History Higher

What is special about this course?

Higher History is part of the NQ Humanities Level 6 course, and can be studied individually or along with Higher English and Higher Philosophy.

On Higher History you will study Scottish, British and European history in a world-wide context, across all period from medieval to modern. You will develop a breadth and depth of knowledge and understanding of the past, and gain opportunities to consider how political, social, economic and cultural history relate to the world of today. You will develop skills to explain historical developments and events, evaluate sources and draw conclusions about these sources.

Students wishing to study Higher History as part of a full-time programme should consult the NQ Humanities (Level 6).

  • National 5 or equivalent at A or B in History or a related Humanities subject
