What is special about this course?

Higher Media forms part of the NC Media level 6 course, and can be studied alongside Higher Photography and other units. Further information can be found on the NC Media page.

Higher Media examines the media of mass communication, including film, advertising, and the news both in print and on television. This is an exciting opportunity to engage with the Media - print and online - and to strengthen your skills in analysis and interpretation of texts, images and films. In addition you will also create a media project, putting your knowledge into practice. You will also gain valuable digital skills while studying this course.

 

Entry requirements

  • National 5 English or Media or equivalent at A or B
  • NC Creative Industries (SCQF Level 5)

  • Media: Creating Media Content

All course lectures and assessments are online, but you must attend nine practical Saturday workshops at the college throughout the academic year.
