What is special about this course?

Higher Photography offers students the opportunity to develop integrated, hands-on skills in a range of photographic subjects, reflecting the skills set change to an increased focus on technological advances, the prevalence of digital photography and the demands of employers for technologically aware and flexible workforce.  Photography has an increasingly significant core function within the creative industries and also within the commercial and scientific community in Scotland. 

Entry requirements

Mature Students

A selection of work in photography.  Familiarity with ICT is highly recommended. Entry is subject to interview. 

School Leavers

  • Intermediate 2 Art and Design at A or B, or Intermediate 2 English at A or B or National 5 at A or B
  • Familiarity with ICT is highly recommended

Depending on a portfolio of work, it is possible to gain entry onto the HND Contemporary Art Practice or HND 1 Visual Communication.
