What is special about this course?

This course will allow you to develop the English you need to be able to take part in UK life – in the workplace, at home and with friends.  You will develop your skills in reading, writing, speaking and listening.

You will be able to develop the skills you need to be able to hold conversations on a range of topics from home life to what is happening across the country as well as being able to better understand recordings such as radio or television programmes.

Communication skills will also be developed to help you understand conversations that take place in the workplace.

Entry requirements

All prospective ESOL students will be interviewed and tested by one of the ESOL team in order to ensure they are placed at the correct level.

Prospective students must have settled status in the UK to be admitted onto the course, but there would be no pre-requisite to have any other qualifications.

This ESOL course will develop basic communication skills in English, and be able to:-

  • Obtain information from simple verbal communication and to speak English to communicate
  • Convey information
  • Engage in discussion with others
