Fabrication and Welding (Modern Apprenticeship) SCQF Level 5
What is special about this course?
The Modern Apprenticeship is delivered in partnership with the employer, student and the training provider. This course consists of block release training in college.
Registration and certification of the qualification is through the awarding body EAL.
- Must be in relevant employment
- It is recommended that candidates should have National 4 passes in English, Maths, a Science subject and Craft/Design Technology.
Apprentices will work towards achieving an EAL SVQ2 in Performing Engineering Operations and SQA National Certificate in Fabrication and Welding.

- Manual Welding
- Pipe and Tube Fabrication
- Welding Machine Setting and Operating
- Plate Working
- Sheet Metal Working
- Structural Steel
