Social Services Children and Young People

A Foundation Apprenticeship in Social Services Children and Young People will provide you with a National Progression Award and SVQ units.

Why choose this course?

The social care curriculum is the least likely to be delivered within schools, possibly because of difficulties within placements for younger school age pupils. However, the number of students attracted to apply for full time courses at college after leaving school (and beyond) would indicate that interest in this area is significant.

The course provides a progression for current S3/4 pupils who currently attend college on a Skills for Work childcare course. On completion of this Foundation Apprenticeship students can progress onto a variety of courses, some of which may depend on school based exam results. Otherwise, there are Modern Apprenticeships at Level 3 to be considered, or other vocational programmes at both Further and Higher Education level.

Guidance staff should contact Lorraine Andrews on 01463 273404

Pupils should contact their Guidance Teacher in the first instance.
