Degree Module: Creative Writing - Writing for Film, Introduction to Screenwriting

This module will encourage you to think creatively in response to a given brief. You will be asked to complete screenwriting/creative assignments within time constraints in class and allowed to refine these for your first assignment; responding to peer and tutor feedback. You will also gain essential skills in formatting a basic script as well as begin to develop an understanding how to present your work to industry standards.

This module is delivered via Google hangouts or Brightspace; the North Highland College UHI Virtual learning platform; Semester 1.

You will be joining the students from the full-time BA (Hons) Contemporary Film Making in the Highlands and Islands, or BA (Hons) Literature and Creative Writing at North Highland College UHI.

You will undertake a one-day induction in June and then study from September.

Entry requirements:

Three Highers at C or above with one literary subject, e.g. English, history or psychology, and have a satisfactory reference.

Mode of delivery: Online, Semester 1 (September to December)
