Degree Module: Understanding the Social World (Face to Face)
Face to face
The module provides an introductory account of how sociology developed, key sociological terms, concepts and schools of thought. Sociological thinking is applied to module topics: social construction of gender and sexuality; urbanisation; consumer society; individual and collective resistance; and deviance and crime.
• Students should have passed 2 Highers at C or above
Mode of delivery:
- Face to face, Mondays, 9am to 11am
Duration: Semester 1 only - September to December
