These modules are part of the Higher National Certificate in Working with Communities. If you enjoy volunteering, being part of activities, charity events or working with people who need support in the community, then this learning can support you on the way to a future career in community learning and development.
You will be assessed through essays, presentations and the creation of community profiles.

Level SCQF 7

Delivery Remote | Wednesday 9am to 12noon

Attend timetabled classes for all learning and assessments via Brightspace, our virtual learning environment, or Google classrooms.

Course content..

You will learn:

The principles which underpin effective community practice;

Social science approaches supporting theories of community change;

How to adopt and support a range of learning approaches;

How to work with community groups (adults and young people).

This programme supports the Community Learning and Development (CLD) Standards Council Values and Ethics.

On successful completion you can complete our HNC Working with Communities. You can also seek employment and volunteering opportunities in the community learning and development sector.


Entry requirements

Students should have one relevant A-C pass at Higher level, preferably including English or English based subjects.
