This course is delivered by blended learning, using an online learning platform, Webex and our virtual learning environment (VLE) called Brightspace. Learning materials will be provided through Brightspace alongside text/workbooks. You will work through the learning materials and complete tasks as requested by your lecturer, including homework. During induction you will learn how to use the VLE, which is an integral part of course delivery.

This course is delivered by blended learning, using an online learning platform - Webex and our virtual learning environment (VLE) called Brightspace.
You may have to attend an AAT assessment centre to complete online assessments - your lecturer will discuss this with you.
You will study:
- How to carry out common book-keeping transactions and tasks
- Learn how to use control accounts, produce trial balances and more
- Learn how to record the financial affairs of a business and methods of working more efficiently and accurately
- Delve into double entry book-keeping, learning about calculating sales invoices and credit notes and generally develop the practical accountancy skills you need to enter the job market
The weekly evening class, which you will link into using our online platform, Webex, is mandatory. During the virtual delivery, you will take part in discussions as well as individual and group activities, which will develop your understanding of the accounting topics. There is also an element of self-study which will be required each week; students should allow at least 2 hours per week for this.
