Absence reporting

You must contact the College ON THE DAY that you are absent to report your absence.

If you leave college during the day you must make contact at that time stating the time you left and why.

You must make contact every day that you are absent, if you do not your absence will be recorded as unauthorised and may result in your payments being blocked.

Write ABSENT as the first word of the message followed by a space. Then give your Name, Student Number, Course and Reason for absence. Failure to put a space after the word ABSENT will mean that the text will not be delivered and therefore your absence will not be authorised. Keep the reason for your absence short and to the point, if you do not do this then you will use multiple texts which are costly and are difficult for us to track.

In the title of the e-mail put ABSENT. In the message give your Name, Student Number, Course and Reason for absence.

Evidence

Evidence for your absence, if appropriate, should be handed in to the Student Support Centre (behind reception) or scanned and sent to attendance.ic@uhi.ac.uk
