If you’re looking to get ahead with your self-development, The Bothy runs a variety of free workshops and drop-in skills sessions throughout the year, delivered by staff from our Professional Service and Academic teams. Some workshops take place in The Bothy’s workshop space, and some are delivered online via Webex. You can find the current schedule by scrolling down to the calendar at the bottom of The Bothy’s home page on Brightspace.

Our popular wellbeing workshops have been turned into recorded videos and made available for you to watch online, on demand. Many include resources and self-study materials for you to work through too. They can all be found within the Wellbeing area of The Bothy on Brightspace.

And if you’re someone who knows they need a nudge, we also schedule a variety of these recorded webinars within our Bothy calendar as a suggestion for your diary.

A social gathering for students to support each other, provide peer to peer support and coaching. Or just come along for a quiet lunch break and enjoy one of our crafting activities in a calm space.

Do you need to practise reading and speaking in English? Come along to our Read Aloud group for students looking to develop their English language skills. We choose a text to read together, then chat about it. If you can bring a laptop that would be fantastic, but if not please still come along!

Join Fee Salmond-Smith on Tuesdays for lunchtime yoga in the Sports Hall- an enriching flow to make you empowered and strong: from 12 – 12.45pm.

  • The sessions will be weekly
  • Suitable for beginners and experienced
  • The sessions will be a combination of seated and some simple and effective standing postures.
  • Yoga mats are provided and changing rooms are available
