Ralph Gunn
Ralph Gunn
Hi, my name is Ralph Gunn, and I am the Personal Development Adviser (PDA) for Supported Education.
In this role I really enjoy supporting, guiding, and advising students in their journey with us at UHI Inverness. Previously, I was employed as a Learning Assistant within Supported Education which provided me with experience of student support in an educational setting and knowledge of the student journey. My other job roles have involved life coaching and elements of counselling and guidance, particularly with students with physical disabilities, learning difficulties and/or disabilities.
I lived in the southwest of Ireland with my wife and family for 11 years and was involved in programme design in a training unit for students with various levels of ability. I regularly delivered modules to individuals and groups and supported students to move towards employment.
Qualifications I have achieved that are relevant to my role as PDA:
- HNC Training and Education, National University of Ireland, Galway
- Diploma Life Coaching, FE & Training Awards Council Ireland
- Social Services & Healthcare SVQ 3, SQA
- Introduction to Counselling, UHI Inverness
When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, as well as reading and playing the guitar. I love being outdoors and get out for a walk in the hills as often as I can!
I very much look forward to meeting all the new students joining us this academic year and getting to know you as your Personal Development Adviser, as well as continuing to provide support and advice to all our current students, who are continuing their academic journey with us at UHI Inverness.
