Hire a graduate apprentice or upskill your current workforce
Graduate apprenticeships are designed to respond to skills shortages and adapt to rapid changes in the modern world of work.
Graduate apprenticeships have been developed in response to the needs of the modern workplace, which calls for employees with degree-level qualifications and real-world work experience. Graduate apprenticeships offer a pathway for both new and existing employees - from school-leavers starting their first job to long-standing and experienced employees – to earn a degree while working.
More reasons to hire a graduate apprentice
- Dedicated contact with our business solutions team, who can provide recruitment support with vacancies, screening and funding advice. UHI Inverness staff also provide regular communications on course information, progress and performance.
- The skills apprentices acquire on the apprenticeship align to the specific needs of the business. Tasks and projects carried out by the apprentice in the workplace contribute towards their degree.
- Studies show that mentoring within the workplace is an invaluable source of support for the apprentice. The employer should identify a workplace mentor. The mentor should have sufficient experience in the apprentice’s field of study and work. Examples of suitable mentors would be a line manager, supervisor or a recent graduate.
- Our business solutions team and lecturing staff meet with both the mentor and apprentice to agree goals, review progress and discuss any issues or address concerns.
