Entry requirements

  • 2:2 honours degree or above in a relevant subject, or in any other subject with relevant work experience OR
  • PgDip in a relevant subject
  • Applicants with an ordinary degree or equivalent qualification plus relevant work experience, at a suitable level and for an appropriate length of time, will be considered on an individual basis
  • Qualifications from an approved professional body in a suitable subject area will also be taken into account

PgCert

You may study the following core modules:

  • Design optimisation
  • Design process and engineering project management
  • Quantitative research methods and data

This will depend on whether you start in Semester 1 or Semester 2. It may be that you mix your studies between modules from other years to build towards your masters qualification. Successful completion of the above three modules will enable you to exit with a PgCert Engineering and Built Environment Management 

PgDip

You will study a total of three modules from the Engineering and Management listings.

You can choose to study up to 1 module from the Engineering list:

  • Advanced applications in engineering
  • Application of GIS
  • Introduction to R and data visualisation
  • Renewable energy technologies
  • Safety case studies in the UK

You can choose to study 2-3 modules from the Management list:

  • Collaborative leadership
  • Effective communication
  • Leading the contemporary workforce
  • Managing in the global network

The choices available to you will also depend on the module timetable, therefore the course team will liaise with you in year 1 to provide you with guidance.

MSc

You will complete a Dissertation OR Research Project.

You will also choose one module from the options below:

  • Collaborative leadership
  • Leading the contemporary workforce

How will I study my course?

  • Part-time
  • This course is mainly delivered online with scheduled sessions and tutorials
  • Sessions are also recorded and can be accessed online at any point from anywhere in the world after the scheduled class
  • All online study will be done via the university's virtual learning environment (VLE), with support from your tutors

How long will my course last?

  • Part-time: 3 years @ 21 hours per week
