Introduction to Bakery NQ Level 5

What is special about this course?

This course could be for you if you have an interest in baking or if you are considering cooking/bakery as a career. This qualification will enhance your existing skills and offer an additional qualification on your CV in a specialised area. You will leave with a portfolio of your work which can be presented to a potential employer or alternatively you may decide to progress onto further study. 


There may be opportunities for you to take part in a programme of visits to bakeries and we work closely with many industry partners to provide guest speaker sessions and opportunities for you to meet with and talk to employers. 
 

Entry requirements

  • Four National 4 passes, including English.     
  • A personal statement reflecting a desire to work in this sector.
  • Successful completion of NPA Bakery.
  • We welcome applications from mature students who may not have formal qualifications, will be considered.

How will I study my course?

  • Full Time
  • 16 hours per week
  • You will be learning on campus in our professional kitchens through demonstrations and hands on activities.
  • There will also be some classroom-based learning.

A no fee increase guarantee is available for self-funding full-time and structured part-time rest of the UK and international undergraduate students for continuous study for the same award, up to the permitted standard time limit for the relevant award.
