Step Into Care SCQF Level 4

What is special about this course?

This course is designed to build up your skills and confidence to move onto your chosen area of care practice. It is ideal if you have little formal qualificaitons, yet you are keen to develop your skills to work in a care setting.

There will be opportunities to undertake short work placements. 


Entry requirements

  • All applicants will take part in an introduction session including  information about the course, a short interview and an assessment
  • Applicants should be at ease with study at National 4 level or equivalent.

You will cover a range of subjects such as:

  • Psychology
  • Care
  • Wellbeing
  • Complementary therapies
  • Volunteering
  • Communication
  • Literacy

There will also be opportunities to undertake short work placements.

How will I study my course?

Additional information for course delivery in 2021-22

This course will be delivered by blended learning - a combination of face to face and remote learning. You will attend campus in person one day per week and you will access timetabled sessions remotely, via your computer or device, two days per week.

A range of Care Courses at level 5 can be accessed with this qualification including the Introduction to Childhood Practice or Introduction to Health and Social Care.
