What is special about this course?
The Introduction to Business, Administration and Accounting at SCQF Level 5 is designed for students who want to develop a broad range of practical skills for employment or further study in business-related subjects.
This full-time course provides an introduction to key areas of business, administration and accounting, helping students build confidence in areas such as business awareness, office skills, digital technologies, marketing, spreadsheets, word processing and financial information.
Students will develop skills that are valued across many sectors, including communication, organisation, problem-solving, digital confidence and working with financial and business information. The course is suitable for those who are considering a future career in business, administration, accounting, customer service or office-based roles.
The course also provides a strong foundation for progression to further study, including HNC Business, HNC Accounting or HNC Administration and IT, depending on future interests, achievement and entry requirements.v
Applicants should normally have four National 4 qualifications, including English, or equivalent qualifications or experience. A personal statement should show an interest in business, administration, accounting or a related career area.
Applications from mature students who may not have formal qualifications will also be considered. Applicants should be motivated to learn, willing to develop their confidence with digital and office-based skills, and interested in progressing either into employment or further study.

On successful completion of this course, students will have developed a useful foundation in business, administration and accounting, along with practical skills that can support progression into further study or entry-level employment.
