EAL Diploma in Engineering SCQF Level 7
What is special about this course?
The Diploma in Engineering at SCQF Level 7 requires learners to be employed in an engineering role. It is designed for existing engineering operatives and technicians to gain a recognised qualification in a range of engineering environments.
The qualification can be tailored to meet the needs of the individual, the employer and the workplace.
There are 3 pathways available:-
• Engineering Asset Lifecycle and Maintenance
• Engineering Manufacture and Fabrication
• Engineering Technical Support
As part of this qualification you will continue to work full time and create a portfolio of evidence. You will be assigned an assessor who will observe and assess a range of work in your workplace. This competence-based qualification is gained when all necessary units have been achieved.
Entry requirements
There are no formal entry requirements and learners will be put forward for this qualification by their employer Learners must have been initially assessed to ensure they have both the potential and opportunity to achieve the assessment criteria set out in the qualification units and gain evidence from the workplace.
There are 3 core units which must be completed for each of the 3 pathways.
- Performing core engineering activities
- Developing meta-skills and personal practice
- Understanding the importance of environmental good practice and sustainability
Optional units for each pathway can be selected to suit the individual and their workplace
