Bright Asare
Bright Asare is an educator, researcher, and youth development advocate from Ghana with a strong passion for advancing inclusive and sustainable education and a sustainable environment, sanitation, and hygiene. Bright is currently pursuing a PhD in Sustainability at the Centre for Living Sustainability at the University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI), funded by the Scottish Graduate School of Social Science (SGSSS). His PhD research titled "Contributing Cross-Cultural Meaning to Sentiment Analysis: A Case Study of Qualitative Data Sets on Youth and Uncertainty from Ethiopia and Nepal", explores how cultural contexts shape the interpretation of emotions and uncertainty in youth narratives.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health and Sanitation Education from the University of Education, Winneba, in Ghana, and a master's degree in Enhanced Practice in Education from the University of Glasgow in Scotland. Driven by a commitment to equity, sustainability, and youth empowerment, Bright continues to explore innovative ways to bridge gaps in education and create opportunities for young people to thrive in an evolving world.
His research and professional interests lie in sustainability education and environment, inclusive pedagogies, youth development, Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), and the intersection between culture, data, and educational practice. He is passionate about advancing equitable and contextually grounded approaches to education and sustainability research.
