MRes Community Engagement Student

Florence's research seeks to understand on how artificial intelligence is reshaping education for adolescents in the Scottish Highlands, particularly those experiencing socioeconomic and geographic marginalisation, and how community-based approaches can help uphold children's rights to equitable and quality learning in the era of AI-facilitated digital education.

Her interest in children's rights, participatory education, community engagement, and digital inclusion is shaped by her experiences in Scotland as an Early Years Child Support Worker, as a student contributor to Scotland's Tertiary Enhancement Programme (STEP), and by her prior work in The Gambia, where she supported children in both urban and rural communities, empowering them as active rights-holders and advocating for equitable access to quality education.
