Michelle Ross: HNC Acting and Performance

Michelle Ross (18) studied a one-year drama course at UHI Inverness and has now switched to nursing.

“Don't be afraid to change your mind or try something new. I tried one new field then changed to do another new one and I know for a fact I will value both experiences so much,” said Michelle.

“Now is the time to try a million different things that you love - because life is short, and why do one thing when you can do everything!”

Michelle relocated from Sutherland to Inverness to study HNC Acting and Performance. She loved the campus, particularly the beautiful walk from the student residencies.

“It allowed me to grow and develop as a performer for the first time,” said Michelle.

“Everyone, students and lecturers were so lovely, and they made me feel at home. We were mid pandemic and they effectively stepped up to the task of bringing a very practical course to the online world.

“I am now studying BSc Adult Nursing. I think my studies will definitely help me in my career progression, because it's given me options. I can choose to explore drama, or now nursing, at any time, and find joy and passion in both fields.”
