Humanities

Studying human culture and experience through a range of subjects will help you develop valuable skills.

Our humanities courses provide an opportunity to learn about identity, the world around us, how society works and how people interact with each other.

Our expert lecturers and researchers will stimulate your curiosity, expand your thinking and help you develop critical thinking, debate and investigate, problem solve and communicate - all transferrable skills highly valued by employers across a range of sectors including social services, education, heritage, politics and the media.

Humanities relate to the study of human culture and provide an opportunity to learn about identity, the world around us, how society works and how people interact with each other.

In social sciences programmes, you'll cover a range of subjects from sociology and psychology to history and English, depending on the level. This provides an ideal route into social services, social care, police and voluntary organisations.

Our history and literature programmes provide career pathways into careers such as teaching, education and research, publishing, the heritage sector, media, marketing and PR and politics.
