Jamie Mackintosh, GA BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering

Jamie Mackintosh was presented with a special award at the ceremony for being the best student to complete the Civil Engineering degree at UHI Inverness this year.

Jamie (28) from Strathpeffer completed the Graduate Apprenticeship BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering while working with HGA, an Inverness-based independent firm of Consulting Engineers.

After he received his scroll, Jamie was called back up to the stage to receive the Certificate of Merit presented by the Institution of Civil Engineers.

He said the highlight of his study experience was the satisfaction of passing his degree after all the work he had put in.

His Personal Academic Tutor and lecturer, John MacLachlan, said: “Throughout his time as a student, Jamie demonstrated a strong commitment and an ability to manage his studies with a busy work schedule in his employment with HGA Consulting Engineers.”
