Part-time fee grant

content

The Part-Time Fee Grant is delivered by the Student Awards Agency for Scotland (SAAS).

This scheme is the new way to get help paying for the cost of your learning. If you have an individual income of up to £22,000 a year this scheme could provide you with £500 per year towards the cost of tuition fees.

The level of tuition fee we can pay will depends on the number of credits you do and the qualification you are studying.

The maximum fee grant SAAS can award is :

  • £1,805 for publicly funded degree level courses,
  • £1,274 for publicly funded Higher National awards (HNC, HND),
  • £1,195 for all courses at private providers.

You need to be studying at a Scottish Institution on a part-time Higher Education course, Professional Development Award (PDA) or Continuing Professional Development (CPD) at levels 7-10 of the Scottish Qualifications Framework (SCQF) and complete between 30 - 119 SCQF credits per year.

Any student in receipt of full-time student support from SAAS is not eligible for the part-time fee grant. This includes students who are registered as full-time but attending on a part-time basis.

Also, SAAS cannot offer any part-time fee grant funding if you are already receiving support for other government training schemes. This includes ILA 200, Training for Work, Get Ready for Work and the Modern Apprenticeship Scheme.
