Anna Czekala, Inverness College UHI transition co-ordinator, has been working with primary schools which feed into Inverness High School, including Dalneigh, Central, Merkinch and St Josephs.

Anna has visited the schools over the past three weeks to talk to pupils about the opportunities available to them when they leave secondary school as part of the transitions programme.

This week they got to visit Inverness College UHI.

Anna explained: “Some of the pupils we have been speaking to have not thought about their careers or what they want to do in the future. The project is all about raising their aspirations from a young age and making them aware of the opportunities and pathways open to them, while boosting their confidence.”

It is the first time Inverness College UHI has worked with pupils so young. Anna will visit them again in S1, S2 and S3 to track their progress.

The P7 pupils visited Inverness College UHI on Tuesday 5th June and Thursday 7th June, enjoying a tour of the campus and experiencing a series of taster workshops, including science, psychology and computing.
