Student profile: 'Studying an HNC at UHI Inverness while at school will fast-track my uni entry'
Ellie Moore is spending her last year at school studying HNC Business at the UHI Inverness campus and her advice to pupils moving up to sixth year in August is to ‘definitely consider college’.
Ellie (17), a Grantown Grammar School pupil, hopes studying a higher education qualification while still at school will fast-track her university entry to second year. She said:
“My school did not have the subjects I wanted to study, and I did not want do study Advanced Higher, so I decided to do an HNC at UHI Inverness because it is a higher level than I have studied before and in an area I am interested in. I like the style of learning and teaching because it is different to school. The support is great and I enjoy the three-day week.”
- Applications for our Schools Programme are now open. They offer S4 to S6 pupils the opportunity to study courses at UHI Inverness as part of their school timetable from August. Find out more.
