Qualitative and Quantitative Research on Social and Economic Impact Agriculture, Food and Drink Play within the North Highlands

Introduction – This research will provide evidence from farmers in fragile environments of the North Highlands about their changes in livelihoods as a result of linking their supply chains with Sainsbury’s.

The team will mainly work with beef and sheep farmers and will also carry out research with other stakeholders who work across the supply chain such as networks of producers, processors, marketers and possibly consumers.

The work will highlight positive impact arising from the scheme but also areas for improvement in planning for future initiatives and feeding into a programme of action called Ambition 2030.

Funding – research project under the standard innovation voucher scheme
