Scotland Nature Student Conference 2025 Best Presentation Award!
The recent Scotland Nature Student Conference 2025 at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh brought together 100 delegates and was organised by UHI Inverness, Institute for Biodiversity and Freshwater Conservation's PhD student James Macarthur in collaboration with NatureScot, the University of Edinburgh and Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh. The student-led event provided a platform for young researchers to present their work to government agencies, NGOs, and academics.
Our IBFC Master’s student Alanna-Jo McCallum explored the microbiome of Scottish freshwater pearl mussels and James Macarthur won Best Talk for his research on the impact of beaver recolonization on migratory fish using environmental DNA (eDNA) analysis.
