RESPECT

RESPECT place, people and property

At UHI Inverness we are committed to creating an inclusive culture where everyone feels safe, supported and respected.

We expect our staff, students and visitors to:

  • Respect people – treat colleagues, classmates and visitors with courtesy, kindness and dignity.
  • Respect place – look after our campus and shared spaces.
  • Respect property – value resources, equipment and belongings, whether personal or college-owned.

This culture is built through everyday actions such as listening to others, behaving appropriately, keeping spaces clean and challenging inappropriate behaviour when it occurs.

Our Student Code of Conduct sets out a comprehensive list of unacceptable behaviours. Misconduct may occur in person or through electronic means, such as online platforms, messaging apps, or image-based abuse.

These may include:

We take reports of inappropriate behaviour very seriously and we encourage our staff, students and visitors to report any instances of disrespectful conduct.

  • Staff should refer to HR policies and procedures to report any inappropriate behaviour.
  • Visitors are encouraged to report complaints through our complaints handling process.

Any breach under the Student Code of Conduct will be investigated under the Student Disciplinary Procedure . An investigation could result in disciplinary action, up to and including being excluded from UHI Inverness.
