Summer club content

Summer club

Summer club

The summer club is for new and continuing students who would benefit from enhanced transitional support, including students from vulnerable groups such as neurodivergent, disabled and care-experienced. Through this fun and friendly social opportunity, we aim to offer some structure, routine and regular contact with our wellbeing staff, in order to reduce feelings of anxiety and isolation prior to participants commencing their college course.

The drop-in club will run every Thursday (12pm to 2pm) throughout the summer within The Bothy, our student support venue on campus. Every week, it will provide structured wellbeing activities, gaming, arts and crafts and a social opportunity for up to 20 students.

  • July 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th
  • August 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th

The aims for the club are:

  • To help foster a sense of community amongst participants
  • To help foster a sense of belonging to the college campus
  • To provide structure to participants over the summer holiday break when normal routine is lost
  • To upskill participants with mental wellbeing self-management skills
  • To direct participants into additional support services when identified
  • To signpost participants to community support and social opportunities within the local area

There's no need to book, just come along to our main UHI Inverness campus and ask for The Bothy at reception.
