Environmental DNA metabarcoding as an alternative to macrobenthic assessments in fish-farm compliance assessment

The aim of BactMetBar is to optimize 16S metabarcoding of sediment bacterial communities and downstream analytical pipelines as a new method to monitor fish farm impacts on the marine benthos. BactMetBar is a collaboration between IBFC, Scottish Association for Marine Science, Kaiserslautern Technical University, SEPA and the Scottish aquaculture industry, funded by the Sustainable Aquaculture Innovation Centre.
