Investigating the ecological and social impact of beaver conservation and translocation

We are running a project with Trees for Life to monitor changes in biodiversity following conservation translocations of beavers into the Beauly catchment. PhD student James Macarthur investigates the impact of beavers on migratory fish in the Tay catchment. We have recently completed a multi-disciplinary project to assess the ecosystem impacts of beavers in collaboration with Cbec (physical environment) and the Centre for Living Sustainability (socio-cultural perceptions) and funded by NatureScot.
